Caught a few of the best waves i ever have today , out the alley all by myself apart from some windsurfers. It was hell paddling into the southerly that was blowing hard but the effort was well worth it. Every 20 mins or so a few bommies come through , i seen one winsurfer on a clasic he was in the trough and the wave was as high as his sail.
Caught one wave from way out back all the way into the beach at palmy , it would go fat then hit a sand bank reform and i was away again , the walk back to the estuary wasnt fun but i thought what the heck so i done it all again.Im gonna be sore tomorrow.

Had my go-pro so ill have a look see if i got anything good and post later, bloody thing kept turning itself off.

Ha, looks like Pats sail in the background of that one. We got some fantastic waves throughout the day. I came off the lip of one not thinking it was that big till I looked down from the top.

If you are keen to have a try there is a free learn to windsurf day that will be back on the coast in the near future. Down side of the sport is it is usually a few years of practice on flatter water till you are out on days like today.

hey teatrea, i did a run and had to come in the alley. fairly sizey and some hard work. anyway with tired legs got to the alley and out the front was very messy. trying to hold my position i let some waves go in a set and paddled for a medium wave which grew on me.it dropped out on me too, but got to the bottom and paddled my ring off to keep some speed for the wall of foam behind me, but i got bounced.
same thing again in the middle section.

by the time i got to the rock wall i was a rag doll. tired dw legs dam well never seem to want to work when you have to do some fancy work to get in
cheers
