Tried to submit a post recently but it didn't post, so this is my first on this site.

I have gotten a SUP yet, but am getting close. Looking at a either a Starboard 10'5" Wide Point, or a Cabrinha 10'2" Hybrid wood series.

Decision being guided by what actually looks like a surfboard.

I would also like to cruise, and fish from it.

Any guidance?

Is there much difference in construction methods/materials?

I am a 60 yo surfer of 100 kg,and 6'1" and have had several recent knee surgerys. Need to get into the water badly. I was riding a short board until the knee problems, but now only occasionally ride a longboard. Too young to hold up the bar!

Welcome.. I would lean towards the Starbie because it should give you a little more stability.. .. (better for the cruising and fishing).

Thanks for the replies.
Had a look at the PSH. Thanks for that .
Also found Creed and the 10'er looks alright also.

Decisions decisions.
A quiver may be in order :)

I quickly concluded this wasn't going to be a one board activity!

Consider an adjustable length carbon paddle as your first "thing" ...

Mate I see you're also pretty close to Lake Mac, I'm also pretty new to this and have a 10.5 Drive if you'd like to confirm / delete it from your list.

DSS (Starboard and C4) also have demo days in Carrington and you can hire / try from Hobie (near the Gunyah) and Jet Boat at Pelican.
