Hey Guys need some help please,

A friend of mine is looking at buying either a 8'11 or 9'6 Lopez.

I would like to hear feedback from people who have ridden either of these 2 boards that are around the 80 - 85kg mark.

Any of the retailers please advise what you think about suitability for an 80-85kg intermediate rider stepping off a 9'5 mana.

Generally surfing 1 - 4ft beachies

Any help would be great

Regards

Phill

Hi Phil, for performance in the beachies and also fast, powerful waves, I would pick the 8'11. I am bit lighter at 70kg, but for 80kg rider, the 8'11 should be plenty stable enough. Both are 28.5 wide, but the 9'6 at 135L (8'11 is 126L) is not as much of a step down from the high volume Mana, and a more versatile board. Probably comes down to thruster vs quad preference, and if he would be using much in flat water.
