Have my heart set on a Naish Nalu. I'm 6'0" 88kg.I'm 55 y.o.. Surfed for many years but broke my neck and haven't been in the water for years. I'm mobile just can't extend or turn my neck to much (Fused you see) so can't get prone on a board. My doc gave me the go ahead for an sup. Gonna be paddling and gliding more than surfing but I want to drop in on some knee to waist hi surf every now and again.Heard the 10'10 is a pig to turn and the lack of rocker in the nose spooks me.The 11'4 sounds good but not sure of tracking and glide. 11'6 has alot of volume but it's a barge. Any input would be great.

I think they do a cheaper GS version of my 11' Nalu..

If you're looking at 2014 boards.. and youre going to be "paddling and gliding more than surfing" .. I think the 10'10" Nalu is the right choice.. It's a really good board..

If your after the best surfing performance the 11'4" is the board to get.. The big 11'6" was a great allround board in its day.. but you don't need so much volume and the shape is very old-school now..

Is the 10'10 surfable? Waves here (Ventura, California) are slow rollers. (Like the ones in your video) If I can get the money together for 2015 11'GT. How does it track?

Mate at 88 Kgs try the 10'6 its got a good shape and you can pick up a 2nd handy for less $s than new nad they are still the same shape.

But (if it was me) I'd spring for the 11' I may be biased - I have one

It looks like Naish has taken all they learned over the years and put it in the new Nalu 11". I really want the GT if I can put the funds together. I like the carbon look. Hows the initial stability? How does it track? Get all worked up just thinking about getting back in the water

On the carbon look, it doesn't look that carbony ! In certain lights you can get a hint, but pretty much solid yellow.
Initial stability is excellent , I've really fallen in love with this board.
Hardly ride my 9'5" mana at all now.
Tracking is so much paddler dependent, how good your stroke is, but I feel it tracks more than good enough for me in a flat water scenario.
The GT is beautifully light, so much so that my 13yr old daughter is able to handle it on and off the water.
It's a great board.

How about a 2014 10' Naish Mana? Good volume. Better rocker than the 10'10 Nalu. Looks like it tracks ok. Starting to get the stoke, looking all over at boards

The 10' Mana is a great board but make sure you get the 2014/2015 shape.. It's much improved from the old shape..

The 10'10" has enough rocker IMO and is the best flat water paddler out of the lot..

It also windsurfs better than any other board in the Naish range.. The good flat water paddling and good windsurfing is due to the channels.. They can be seen at the start of this vid..

I agree with DJ..the Nash Nalu ..11' x31" is perfect..just bought one..great surfing,gliding,nose rider...more like old school..little waves or bigger waves or just paddling around..more water time..fun...ian.m.

Not at all, money isn't endless, so you look at all the options.
The 11' Nalu is a future classic, hard to think I'd ever sell mine.

Standup Paddleboard Wakesurf :):

This is the same as mine, turn well for size, super easy to paddle.
Cheap second hand too.

Cheers

I'm similar - 53, 90 kg, 5'11" ... my board is a Naish Mana 10' and its the right board for me for cruising and surfing. Have experimented with smaller boards in the surf but sadly struggle - a 9' 6" remains aspirational if I can get 5 kg's of my rotund arse. Good luck. You may want to go a 10'6" of 11" but I"m no champion and find the 10' adequately stable.

Important to get the lightest carbon fibre paddle as I find it makes a big difference. Good luck.
