I agree with dean sorry LSD.
i was getting into the sport because i thought the people that were doing it were tired of the crowds so were getting one to get to spots away from the crowds etc. What i have found up where i live and yes I'll say it NOosa, and no i didnt just move here, seems to be the other way around.
they come right out at first point, johnsons,T-tree granite etc, All these spots are already crowded with shortboards and longboards.Phil Jarret and his contest to exploit here doesnt help, i dont know one true local who is behind it.
Have i SUPED a couple breaks here?? mostly johnsons as very few people, first point once, took off on this guy that i dont like anyway apologized to him, and told him it wasnt because i was on a sup, it was because I didnt like him and he falls off way to much.Said I would have done the same thing on my shortboard or longboard.
Give Respect get Respect Im bloody 53 years old been surfing for 45 of those years and can tell you got my fair share of **** from the older crowd. It was part of growing up and hierarchy. Somewhere down the track that seems to have gone, well bring it back,we swam if we lost our board so the next guy got the wave, we also thought about the maneuver we were going to try, because it could be a long swim.
I see guys SUPing now where they dont have to paddle very far at all break is right there, and its crowded, I'm having second thoughts, third thoughts, maybe i'm just living in the wrong area or the wrong time. Am sure i'll get plenty of **** for this, but truth usually does.
wondering where it all went wrong
