Yesterday was the first glassy day that we've had in ages.. It was brilliant.. I was out on my Glide clocking up some K's and getting ready for the big race the next day.

I was out with my friend John who was on his big Kalama.. Look how glassy it was.

We paddled way out past the St Kilda pier and back.

Back on the other side of the pier it was back to perfect glass.. This is looking straight towards the city.. The city buildings were hidden by the smoke haze.

Paddling over to the SupBus I was rapt to see an old friend that I used to windsurf with at Pt Ormond years ago.. It was James Tomkins (one of the Oresome foursome)

I noticed James was paddling with an alloy paddle that was a bit short for him (He's 6'6") so I offered him to try my Kialoa paddle.. Check out the stress he put through it.

BTW... James had been SUP'ing for 5 minutes..and check out his good style.

Back in the shallows his wife was paddling with their two kids on board.. No problems at all.. It was also her first time on a SUP board.

James was keen to take my Glide for a spin and here he is on it chasing after his daughter.. also her first time..and powering along..

Wow, Olympic Gold medallist and living legend. He could be an amazing paddler with his rowing background.

I bet its a novelty for him to be facing forward though LoL
