Hi Guys,

I got myself some pad rubber to replace the deck pad on my son NSP big mal SUP.

Looking for the best Glue option. The exising matt was stuck on with some kind of selastic which seems to have done a good job.
DJ,, you should be able to tell me as this is your old board ??

I was thinking of Selleys, roof and gutter..
Looking forward to you experiences, thanks in advance..

Thanks
Paul

I think the best thing to use is contact adheasive..That yellow stuff that you coat both surfaces with and let dry before touching the two together.

It's tricky and messy but if you take your time it should work out fine.

I used a new type of supaglue that stuck well around the edge but left the center area unstuck because it would take too much supaglue to coat the whole area.

Good luck with it..You will need to remove the old grip and sand the surface first..That won't be easy either.

Thanks David,

Yeah the down side to not glueing the entrie surface is that it holds water whcih drips on your car :(.

What you used did hold well.

I have a can of contact, but thought it will be difficult to get right..

Does experience tell us that regular selastic doesnt last long?

Cheers..

I've used Selleys All Clear to re-stick pealing up bits of my shortboard tailpad and the sides of my Naish deck pad where the side steps run.

It seems to work well and hasn't come unstuck yet. It's clear so you don't get that ugly yellow goo protruding out of the sides like you would with contact adhesive.

Not sure about doing the whole pad with it though.
