Hey all,

New to SUP, but long time Gopro user on my mountain bikes.

Im thinking about getting the surf mount.

Who has one, and what style do you use? FCS or stick on?
Is the stick on kinda big and in the way?
And when it comes time to remove the stick on mount, can it be done without damage to the board?

I'm not really sure if I want to start putting holes in my board to use the FCS mount.

Any recommendations or comments most welcome...

Cheers,
Nik

I use a suction mount with gaffer tape as back up. I also attach two donut floats.

i would have thought the fcs mount would be the best.

i don't know much about go pros, but i would also put in a leggie plug in and then use a trace wiring or something through that and then through a say strap hole similar in the housing assuming there is something like that on the camera housing
cheers

yeah, the chest mount thingy is good for when he plays up too- we can just snap a leash on the back of him to stop him running away and then hand him back to his wife. works a treat at partys

I was using a headmount GP but found i was looking around for waves and when on the wave still looking around too much next time youre out, think about what youre looking at see how much you move your head. Hard to get more than a few seconds without a look somewhere. Paddle cam is good more easy to keep steady. Have just put the surf stick on ones on the board so I will attach a float back up. One board has the FSC gopro mount with a leggy plug for back up works Ok .

I bought the surf ( board mount), a paddle mount and helmet mount.
The paddle takes some getting used to with finding the right angles:had to crop this video sideways:

So far haven't lost a cam with either one of the mounts.

I had the FCS and leggy plug mounted on the nose of my board. Cost me $60, never had to worry about losing it even in the bigger stuff. Its a good perspective for vid and pics. Apparently the sticky mount does come off, but with a fair bit of effort.

These are a few pics i put up recently
