Reckon Matty 'GreenMenace' Roach was responsible for most of the Sunny Coast points taking out both the Open and Over 45's Men's with some standout surfing getting the most out of the small waves.

Well done to Ali for the win in the Womens too!

Come on Swanie, I know you guys flogged us in the SUP division, but the official SUP points were only 46-26 (longboard points dont count for sup even if you kicked out butts in that division too!) so were weren't quite as bad as it looks.
At least we won one heat

Congrats to all the Sunny Coast crew, winning every mens heat and the finals, good to see everyone having a bit of fun in a friendly comp atmosphere, regardless of all the inter-coast banter.

SUPSA's got a lot of catching up to do for next year!

I think Matty must have almost got enough points today to beat the Goldy on his own

I stand corrected. Apologies for the inflated score. I was told the score on the phone but was told how well we did in the long board division as well. Be interesting tomorrow. I wouldn't right the gold coast off but they have their work cut out for them. We have some great grooms on the scene in short board.

Just finished 12 beers with Jinsey and now on to Guiness. Very proud sunny coaster.
No need for excuses. We won last year as well on the gold cost with no conflicting events. 🍻🍺🍔

I wouldn't say so in the race department overall though we do have some leading race paddlers.

I did not win the trip.

Gold Coast, Queensland, Monday 10th September, 2012: THE Sunshine Coast secured their second consecutive overall World Surfaris Coast of Origin Interclub Series title, outpointing the Gold Coast 365-points to 285-points, with a dominant display of surfing over the weekend at Coolum Beach.
Despite wins from a fighting Snapper Rocks Surfriders in the Shortboard Tag Team component and overall Shortboard Club Championship, it was the depth of the Sunshine Coast across all their Club's that proved the difference in the end.
Every Sunshine Coast Shortboard State Challenge competitor pockets $50 each for their respective club, winning the Sunshine Coast Shortboard vs. Gold Coast Shortboard competition.
Snapper Rocks Surfriders effort was not in vain, with the Southern Gold Coasters walking away with $500 for their triumph in the Shortboard Tag Team component.
The Sunshine Coast's Longboard and Stand-Up-Paddleboard competitors set the tone for the weekend, handing their shortboard counterparts a 33-point lead at the beginning of the final day, before the champion Coast's shortboard contingent built on their momentum to take home the title once again.
Running from September 8-9, the World Surfaris Coast-of-Origin Interclub Series showcases the state's most talented Club surfers across shortboard, longboard and stand-up-paddleboard (SUP) with the Sunshine Coast super-team claiming Queensland's Boardriding Club surfing supremacy for 2012.
Over 20 Queensland Boardriding Clubs from Noosa to Coolangatta converged on the Sunshine Coast, with upwards of 200 competitors vying for the title of Queensland's best surfing coast.
The seven-event World Surfaris Coast-of-Origin Interclub Series sees surfers of all disciplines (Shortboard, Longboard and Stand Up Paddleboard) and ages, represent their respective Boardriding Clubs, their region and ultimately their 'Coast' – uniting Queensland's grass-roots surfing community in an amazing interclub competition.
A SUPER STOKED Gordon McPherson from North Shore Boardriders has won the World Surfaris Coast-of-Origin trip for two to Tupira Surf Club, PNG with return international flights thanks to our friends at Air Niugini.

Gordon's World Surfaris Prize Includes:
- 2x Return Airfares flying Air Nuigini ex Brisbane excluding taxes
- 2x 7 nights accommodation at Tupira Surf Club Madang
- 3 hearty meals daily
- Airport transfers
- SAPNG levies
- Extra activities; Cultural show, fishing and more.
Total prize package valued at $3,650

The World Surfaris Coast-of-Origin Interclub Series is proudly supported by World Surfaris, XXXX Summer Bright Larger, Australia's Surfing Life, Sunshine Coast Surf Magazine, GC Surf Magazine and Surfing Queensland.
