On the recent "trip down south" after a hard days SUPPing I regularly found myself at the Yallingup pub. Now despite going a bit up market and (almost) losing its soul it still retains an echo of past glories. It would have to be one of the best pubs in Australia. Beautiful tree lined walk to the beach and wonderful old architecture. The surrounds could have been plucked from the pages of Tolkien.
The walls contain photo's of waves ,surfers,dolphins old movie posters etc and after a few beers it is easy to conjure memories of wilder times.
Such pubs seem rare these days.
If there is anyone else on the forum that drinks? and can they recommend a good REAL surf pub.
One that might include boards, surfing paraphanalia, etc.
Perth seems bereft of them.

Cottesloe Hotel is pretty good, but can get too crowded at the sunday session. Used to be good for game of pool and a cold one after a swim / surf until they changed the original front bar into a cafe. Still gets plenty of regulars down there though.

The OBH just down Marine Parade is great, views straight out over the water, good pub food and it is nothing too fancy. Like the Cottesloe, it gets packed at the Sunday Session - but the rest of the time it is pretty relaxed.

Yeah Casso the Yamba hotel would have to have one of the best views in OZ.Some good sup spots their too.
