Wondering if anyone has used Gopro Camera Tethers and bungee cord to carry Wet/Dry Sac's on a board that isn't fitted with mounting points? Would like to understand how strong they are and if it's a viable option?

I reckon they'd be pretty strong. There's more than 8 cm2 of surface area sticking them down - there's no way you could you pull it off by hand if they are stuck on a smooth flat surface.

Hey Nosaj.

I produce and sell a product similar to what you are looking for. Basically what I have developed is a small low profile carbon disc with a small strong rope loop through the middle that when adhered to a board, with either an epoxy or sikaflex type product, it can have a variety of uses. I have sold a bunch to the US for people to use as a criss crossing bungee lashing system on the front of their boards to store things like life jackets, drink bottles etc. I also feel it may lend well as a safety system for gopro's, extra or replacing existing leg rope plugs and many other uses.

My soft pad eyes are super strong (managing to hold over 100kg when stuck with the right glues), require no holes to be drilled in your board and have a low profile look (no stubbing your toes) and are super light (weighing around 6g each). They also have that "clear carbon bling factor".

These come in 2 sizes at the moment, 25mm and 40mm diameters with the larger having a greater working load. The advantage of sikaflex or an epoxy product is that no contaminants can make it under the two surfaces. When stuck with epoxy my pad eyes are more than capable of taking the boards weight.

Send me an email if you're interested and I can send you some pictures as my website is still under construction.

Hi Sticit, you are a week too late, I did my big paddle on the weekend and the gopro tethers worked a treat with the shock cord. Managed to secure 4.5 litres of water, food and other necessities without a slip.

i would be interested to see you product though I will PM you my email address.
