Went to the local beach today, 2ft and a bit blown out Was going to go out any way just to get wet, When a mate on shortboard said lets go check this other beach that its normally always to big for.

Walked up the track to the top of the dune to check it and it was going off Well over head high, 4 ft plus sets. A constant quality right hander peeling down the line.
Couldnt get out there quick enough, best session this year, just me out and my mate on a shortboard.

Sucky powerfull waves with some great open faces for gouging and hacking the 9 6" on, so many times my mate said if only I had a camerea then, I would have got the best shot of you I also think I have found the perfect fin combo for the 9 6" fcs 4 on the front 2 , and little fins on the back, really drivey down the line, but super loose for hard cutbacks.

Over all and awesome session, just in boardies as a bonus in this stinking heat.....Classic morning

Haha, yeah I dont have a camera champ at the moment, It would have looked picture perfect If I did, when robdog gets back I will see if he wants to take some pics.

I just went to the ute and looked, those fins are fcs sf4. There two different sizes and really foiled.

Brooko,
I find these G-XQ good rears in good small to medium conditions.

80/20 inside foil.

What did you use?

This is the fin set up on my 9'8" SB.

I find it goes great in small to med surf - havnt had it out in anything sizey yet.

The sides are FCS MR-TX twin fins with a 6" flexifoil centre.

I've tried it as a twin fin - its super loose in small surf but a bastard to paddle.

The current set up works great all round.

Looks like a good combo for the medium size stuff, Its amazing how much difference changing fins can have on stability whilst paddeling, I noticed the same thing
