Yeah Pete, i'm certainly over 50 not bald, yes a little overweight,i dont get to surf as often as i would like, due to work etc,so when i do, i want to have lots of fun, but not at the expense of others. So it does go both ways ,i was surfing Point impossible one beautiful morning,(on my mal)there was a great vibe in the water that morning .Until 4 guys on various board sizes-mostly short, arrived and started stinkeyeing everyone in sight.Quite funny as most of the guys who were in prior to them arriving are what you would call locals -regulars,any way there is a guy who surfs there regularly who is 75 yrs old and a top guy.As you would expect he is given a pretty good go by those who know him, except by this punk about 25-30,who starts telling him he has no right being out there and f###king up his waves.Well b4 i or anyone else can jump in tell this f#####r to zip it,Frank levels him with a very cold stare and tells him to come back in 25 years when it will be a fair fight, and that only 10 years ago he was still a better surfer than him.Sh1tloads of laughter sent this guy from the water with his tail well and truely between his legs.So sometimes its better to be good with a come back rather than most peoples reaction to get into it.
petemc said...Hey guys,
let's stop pigeon-holing mal riders as "fat old guys" or "over 50, fat and bald" as quite a few breezers fit the description, me included. I'm 55, getting thin on top and consider myself fat at 90kg. Tell you what though, I can still dish it out, so don't write us oldies off
I remember a quote from a long time ago that goes something like this; 'old age, wisdom, and cunning will beat youth, dash, and vigour any day'.

So there
