Hi Everybody, I've just purchased a new Starboard Drive and have ridden it twice. Today after a session in 2 foot waves I've noticed two hairline cracks on the rail about 8cm long. I was wondering if I should be concerned about this? Does it need to be repaired or just leave it?

I'd use some ding tape.

I had a similar issue. It was a slightly raised line that appeared to be a line in the paint. Well 4 months or so later with light use (I live on the great lakes and in the summer we get very little surf) that line turned into a crack that I noticed as it was bubbling water. There was no impact to the area, and it appears it was a bad join in the laps or something along those lines.

I'd suggest taking it back, and having them take a couple pictures and notes, so that if it opens up there 4 months down the road, they know there was a manufacturing issue with it. I wouldn't repair it yourself. Let it be. Its a manufacturing issue, and you shouldn't have to go making diy repairs on a new product.

Also mine was warranted after a few months. It went right up to the top of one of the big manufacturers though as they were diagnosing it solely on pictures.
