hey I got a halo 10 footer for first board after a few goes on a 10 2 nsp (boat). the halo was a great step up, durable, OK in flat and good in small waves, but even at around 85kg and then a beginner I quickly was looking for a more surf oriented board. if you surf at all you'll probably find as I did that while your intention is both surf and flat, you end up almost always chasing waves.... i'm keeping it as a back up and for friends/family beginners, great all rounder I was very happy with it for what it was (and for the price). obviously depends on your ability and surf vs flat but I'd look smaller than the 10 ft unless you really want to do mostly flat water, I'd actually love to try the 9 footer in waves!. give me a call if you want any more input cheers dools 0429330032

I started on the 10'5 waterborn convertable which is very similar to the Atlantis. I started mainly on flat water but once I picked up a couple of waves I was mainly using it for surfing . I had it in waves up to head height and it handled ok although much better on smaller waves. I've just stepped down to a jp 8'3 widebody but am still keeping the 10'5 as a small surf n flat water board. As far as construction quality I've been very happy, board is 2 years old and is as new...good luck! Ps I'm 75kg 175 tall....

Hi There, Long time forum spectator, 1st post :)My feedback on these boards:I did not really research SUPs before I purchased mine, but was lured into a big $399 sale price by the side of the road in Palm Beach - Gold Coast.I ended up walking out with a more expensive Waterborn 10"6' board. For the first year, I used it exclusively on flat water and at river mouths - The board was great and met those needs easily (and price effective)My 3 year old sat on the front, the board is stable, we had lots of fun (isnt that what its about?) :)This winter I have been hitting the surf zone for the first time, and while I am loving it, I do notice how 'clumsy' the board can feel. Changing directions and movement feels like I am on a barge. My new board will be a more expensive (possibly 2nd hand) 'branded' surf oriented SUP.I have had a go, and there is a world of difference!SBW I think target tourists and novices (like I was). Their service is OK, prices are cheap, and boards are good (for intended purposes)Happy with mine, have had a lot of great moments with my young boys, but will be upgrading in the futureHope it helps :)
