Hello friends
I just receive my first 2 samples of wood paddles.
We will start trying testing them in the water immediately.
I was wondering if any one know about some kind of stress test that you use for paddles!!
I remember seeing in the old days windsurfing mast with weight attached to see the loading breaking point..
Any help would be appreciated.
Also what would be an acceptable weight for a Wood Paddle....
At the moment we are at 1,1 kilos.
Bye Jankie

1.1 kg.. ..You will end up with arms like Popeye..

I think you need to aim for about .8kg and be able to lean on it with full body weight without hearing SNAP!

Ciao John,
2008 Starboard were 1 kg and not much complains.
When I look at all the web site for paddles I see that most of the carbon paddles are around 800 grams! Here we are talking about wood.
Did anyone was able to make wood paddles under the 1 kg and still strong?
Bye Jankie
