Having some difficulty sourcing airline for trip to NZ with sup. Length seems to be problem. Dont want to sent as freight before as have had issues with co-ordinating pick-ups. Anyone done trip before with some info? Thanks in advance.

I took my 8'5 on Emirates internationally but that was JUST within the limits. I have given up on trying to take it domestically, all the airlines have strict length limits.

Pretty sure Air NZ is up to 2.5m (8'2) which is a bit tight when it comes to SUPs

Emirates wasn't a problem, I think they allow up to 3 m, they also allow 30kgs.

Depends on the plane used on the domestic route. Airbus, forget it, due to the containers they use. 737 have open cargo holds so much friendlier. I changed flights to a 737 one in order to carry a 8'11" as accompanied baggage. This was on Air NZ. Not sure what Jetstar have.
