Stand Up Paddle Sports will be running a SUP demo this weekend in Lancelin!! We will set up at the windsurfing beach park to the south of town on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9am!!

Lancelin provides a calm and sheltered bay, ideal for beginners and those looking to compare boards on the flat water, but also some waves on the reef just offshore (main break/reform/shallows) for the more experienced paddlers.

There will be a large range of boards available from leading brands Starboard and Naish, including boards such as Starboards 8’5” x 30” Pocket Rocket, 11’2” x 36” Avanti and Naish 9’3” x 29”. We will even have some wetsuits available!

Lancelin is just an hour north of Perth and is a great location for all watersports. Great for a day trip, but also plenty of accommodation options for a full weekend.

For further details contact 9244 4162
To be informed of future demos please register to standuppaddle.com.au.

For those Windsurfers among you, the forecast is looking good for some afternoon wind, so Auswind are hosting a 2011 Starboard and Severne Wave gear demo! There will be the new Quad, Kode, Evo and Futura boards, and NCX, Blade, S1, SWAT and Gator sails available to try.

I hope you guys use a bit more common sense than the other mob on their demo day.
Absoulute beginners unleashed on the back reefs in a decent swell and rough conditions
It was only a matter of luck that they did not get hurt, drown or hurt someone

Was that the WAsurf one? Thought that was going to happen pm'ed them beforehand they assured me they would show and teach surf etiquette.

Oh well bound to start happening same as all the surf schools up there people sniff the chance of making a dollar they will get as many as possible. Gotta love capitalism we may have to drive up the new road and join the new adventurers lol

Sad might be the end of the golden age to borrow Matts term.

Went up there last Saturday
Had to avoid a Commodore trying to get on the beach and when leaving saw a shiny new Camry with Ma and Pa daytripper about to make the attempt. There is the end of a real Golden Age

The WAsurf event in Lancelin a month ago was great. There was only a handful of us and Phil took the experinced guys out to the channel break. Good fun and well organised.
Cheers
Greg

PS - I am not affiliated with WAsurf at all, just had a good weekend with the guys and hate to see a name dropped without just cause.

Just wait until you get here fellas.
Backpacker vans and grey nomads cluttering up the streets and dazed locals wandering around mumbling about all the people.
Now where did they say that new McD's store was going in Lano....

I was out there a month ago on the sunday that was smaller and cleaner than the saturday and the beginners on new naish boards did not drop in at all. However, I'm not sure it's the right place for a demo for beginners.
