Love the sneaky little rail grab (and flip) from the surfer as he slides by..

That's funny!

...but was the 1st surfer that caught the wave going to get back in front of it? I don't know much about the rules, but he looked like he was back too far to call it 'his' wave?

[edit] whoops, didn't read the above-post, sorry - same question.

As for the one-handed paddle-holder...that's not a good look.

Apparently this break in Cali is a no-go SUP zone so the guy was really pushing his luck being out there in the first place, and if he was also dropping in prior to this wave, he may well have got his just desserts.

Interesting topic DJ , I,m still struggling to find the natural way of how to hold the paddle while surfing .

On forehand ,I think I somtimes have it in my rear hand .

Back hand same I think.......I,ll take more notice next time

I think if I'm holding it with two hands , the prefered way for me is left hand on the handle .

So Maybe while surfing some people are goofy paddle holders!!!!

So ..... If your a natural stance surfer , should you hold the paddle natural ?

And viceaversa ?

Same...I tend to swap it a bit, otherwise (as a goofy), right hand on the handle most of the time. I'm just learning to use the paddle behind me on the opposite side of the rail when doing backhand turns - so trying to keep my right hand on the handle the whole time.

Yeah , your spot on I recon , I ve just looked at a few vids and most people are holding the paddle the same way they are standing . ....... Natural , left hand forwards and on handle .

....... Goofy , right hand forwards and on handle .

And this dosnt change , backhand and forehand ^^ same same

Mmm glad we have sorted that out , now what's the next problem mankind has that needs sorting ?? ....

Hello David John, can you help us? I just posted a message about 2 stolen boards in Middle Park, Vic. We have met you in St Kilda with SUP mutt Spike on Naish and rental board back in April. Please keep a look out for us. Thank you very much, Hanako
