I read somewhere in another thread (sorry can't seem to find it at the moment) that someone (Eastcoast Boardriders?) was trying car bonnet stone chip tape on their board rails to prevent chipping the board with the paddle? Has anyone tried this and have some feed back?

I have seen some rubber edging available (www.standuppaddlesurf.net/2007/09/27/save-your-rails-on-your-stand-up-paddle-surfboard/), but the forum consensus that I've read seems to agree that this adversely affects the feel of the paddle in the water. Or does a bit of black electrical tape on the carbon paddles really do the job?

Out of interest how do the Naish's hold up against chipping?

I've been riding the naish for a few months now and no chips on the rails at all and I've smacked it pretty hard sometimes. The tape on the paddle is the best idea if you have to tape anything but you soon learn how not to hit your board after a while.

As Paul said the Naish holds up really well against chipping.

The finish on the Naish has to be the best out there.

If you do wich you will get a few marks here and there, just buff them of with a little car polish.I found that works great to get any marks out and brings the board back to that brand new gloss look.

I would be worried that if you put some kind of tape on the rails of the board that it would slow you down.If anything a little tape on the paddle is the go.

Paddle hard!
