Had an awesome paddle today and just had to talk about it. My wife thinks I bang on too much so you guys get to hear it. Sorry.

It was a magnificent day up here on the Sunshine Coast.

I paddled from my usual launch place, it's a secret, out the Noosa River mouth, this is when I noticed that the sneaker sets were bigger than I thought. No worries, I did the old bloke wait a while thing and had a successful paddle out the back.

I swung east and enjoyed a trouble free awesome paddle to Tea Tree Bay. I noticed that the odd set of swells were quite a bit bigger than general but this was no worry. I pulled in at Little Cove, had a rest, a drink and admired the abundant bird life.

On my return to the River Mouth I thought right, you know there are some bigger ones so wait them out then go on a smaller one. Either I waited too long or there were an odd number in the set I choose.

Anyway, I paddled into one that was twice as big as expected. It was at least shoulder height and I thought I am going down. No the Glide did its job until I got onto the bank and it took a nose dive. No worry that was awesome.

After getting back on board I paddled into a smaller one that went all the way into the deep channel.

Now I know that lots of you guys have done this sort of thing before, but it was a first for this old dude and I hope I get many more. I don't think I have ever gone that fast on a board before.

Cant wait for next week. Yeeeeeeeewwwwww.

Loved surfing the glide...............that is of course until I bought the SIC V2..........

Keep it up, sometimes more fun out of the way on a 14'er than in the pack with the rest of the muppets

Yeah the Bullet V2 surfs really well for a 14. Surfing 14ft boards is a skill all of it's own, but I love it. The ground you can cover in a session is mind-blowing. There's a break near me where I recently recorded on GPS a single wave that lasted 3 mins 26 seconds. I can cover up to 10 miles in a session, 5 of that on a wave, if I'm on a 14 (I only get about 2-3 hrs of surf time per session because of tidal effects). I can cover significantly less distance in that time on a surf SUP. Plus, a 14 makes even small fat waves a challenge.

5 miles of wave riding in one session is about as much as I used to cover in a whole year of prone surfing...

I've got the same model glide too and surf it pretty regularly. I'm lucky, in that I usually have the beach to myself, so can plow my straight lines where ever I like without fear of cleaning anyone up in the bigger surf. I like taking the 14 footer out because it's no hassle to paddle a couple of kms to either end of the beach (nice reef breaks when it's bigger), go and visit a passing whale, do some ins and outs, etc. as well as surf.

I've had some pretty catastrophic high speed nosedives as well - all good fun.
