Thanks to the Zu for the demo..

Shame about the tiny waves.. It was more of just a test to see if it floats me.. It did.. (95 kgs)

you'd be even more Rapt if you threw in the odd turn chief.

So what was it like to paddle it all the way down to zappers - or did Anne paddle it? What was it like to surf? How stable was it compared to the 9' X32? Tell Zu they need a bigger sticker ;)

It's a bit disappointing when you get home and check out your footage to only find two crappy waves.. and one was on my knees..

The conditions were very fickle with a dropping tide (almost dead low tide).. and waves just seem to turn off..

There were a few good sets that came through but I either didn't have the camera on or had unusable footage..

We hope to try again tomorrow.. and maybe even try doing a turn..

Pretty good to paddle.. About the same stability as my 9'1"x32..

Felt slow to get on the wave but once on it was fast.. Turned great..

Felt weird having a board on the roof that's shorter than my car..

that's amazing the stability is the same as the 9.1 x32. I find it staggering they can get 128L into a 7ft sup.

What's it like going thru waves on the way out?

DJ I have a question for you.

Did you display the wide load sign while carrying this board down the road on your car

Interesting did it feel slow because of the 33 width you reckon DJ /?

Wonder what this board would be like in some 3-4 ft ??

You tested a new board and you didn't line up a bit of white water to see what happened? Shame on you.

Nice one DJ, can't wait for more reviews on this board, the size would make it a great travel board IMO.

Im just wondering ,with the wide tail ,what's it going to be like in the barreling section of the wave ..?
it looks like a board that doesn't want to sit still ...a true trick board .maybe not a tube riding reef break board
need a demo ....can't wait till the next vid JB.

Wait till he gets it out in some wind and chop .... no way that will have any where near the stability of 9.1 by 32. I'm not knocking the boards, I reckon the design is brilliant (I have a minion), just we have to be careful with comparisons depending on conditions.

Sometimes boards that have more width in the tail actually bite really well. I ride a McCoy nugget short board and have had some of the best barrels on it in my life (and Im old)!! The nugget is really 'hippy', but pulls and holds. You might be surprised, could work ok!
And DJ, 'on your knees' please!!!

Yup, also the rail line being straighter, it can hold a line at speed without squirelling.

This said, the issue with wide tails is not holding a line in steep faces, it is maneuvering on steep faces and in the pocket... latency in turns and no easy way to bleed off the speed are difficult to handle.

I guess the "nugget" (never rode one, alas) secret lies in its domed hull that could give a smoother rail-to-rail and have the board less "locked" on a rail at speed than a SImmons.
