That's a great response , I never ridden or seen in the flesh the 12-0 PSH Gun but I have seen some great video footage of it. This would be a very good choice mmmm might change my vote forgot about this one.
Piro's with the dollar on a roller coaster ride it is a bit hard to know what next seasons prices will look like. Hopefully the trend remains upwards so prices can come down. We would like to see it at RR$1999.
I think the guys in Hawaii describe to it as being good for waves between 2' and 20' + A bit of an allrounder for distance paddling and downwinders too.
In fact I'd be fascinated to hear a report if anyones done a downwinder on one?
The 12' gun is designed as a RIPPER for dropping bombs but it is surprising a lot of people in how well it turns in smaller waves (even Blane himself). It sounds like a step the other way (going longer) but there is going to be a move towards boards that will allow you to rip, ride and have fun in just about anything - one of the main reasons we got into it in the first place!

Lets see where this one takes us!

gee, looked at vid and photos, maybe i should be moving up not down
My vote is 2 12'0 Guns. When I saw the red one in the container I immediately called Blane and had him send a white one to Maui....I have owned a ton of boards and the board is majestic. It is very hard to describe but at this current time in my life those are the only words I know....This board is fun for family, surfing, learning, playing, downwind (Took 2nd in a race but you won't beat the top dogs that are designed for downwinding), touring, onshore, offshore, etc.
Over 50% of the calender year has crappy waves and this board fills that void of being in the water. Of course nothing like a small SUP but when conditions suck this board comes to play. Actually every SUP session this board is on the car as the emergency. ****Remember my opinion is valid only in my mind and it is all about the stoke***
Aloha

P.S. Got some sick footage of the board being ridden finless. When I complete I will post here if you like.
Here are some pics of the Bulls....
Here is a little clip at the end of a race. Cross chop and all..Once again you probably won't win a race but you can put it on the truck and head to the surf after..
I am too new to this to have a clue, but so far my 9 3 ripper has handled everything from one foot ankle snappers to overhead bombs. Paddles pretty good - faster than the mal riders anyway - and handles the chop OK.
Those 12' guns do look awesome but I would also like to go smaller amd lighter for the next board....hmmmm.

Hey Goatman, you should do what I'm doing, keep the 9'3" Ripper, go smaller and lighter (custom DC 8'8") AND get a 12'0" gun too!
More of Austin. The guy throws down hard on this big board. Sooo fun
bane, its just good surfing to anyone. faded bottom turn.then set up for what ever off the top. in this case an awesome hack/cuttie. the rebounds no too shabby either. surfers should never underestimate a good bottom turn in my opinion. keep the photos coming - inspiring cheers
I will choose the 12' Gun/Ripper 8 out of 10 surfs. Crap conditions or glass conditions. Its just so versatile.
I will add, you have to be ok with swooping. That's what this board does. It swoops, glides and connects sections no matter how big the waves or small. Paddles like a dream. Its comforting to know no matter how big it gets, this board gives you the best shot at making the wave. My dream surf would be this board at a perfect, smooth, smoking right hander, light winds, 25'+ faces, with mile long rides... Ahwoooooo!!!
Hey Blane, anyone using the 12' for down-winders like the Maliko Gulch run? I realise it wouldn't be as fast as the full on down wind boards but I'm betting its way more fun riding the swells. Got a feeling you'd better ship some 12' Guns boards to OZ ASAP!

Nah ... I'm not OK with that - I much prefer those flappy, flicky little turns. I also like to bounce the board along to generate speed and I like to pretend I'm doing tic-tacs on my skateboard.
Maybe only about 10! Just in time for the Snowy comp (with 3km paddle race - 12'0" limit).

Make sure you bring than gun to the Mambo.. The Bar can get pretty big and that gun will be perfect..
That would be very nice ... big bar - big gun. If I'm allowed to go to Mambo the twelve-oh will definitely be on my roof. If not for some big surf - at least for the Pambula downhill run.
