Having a surf on sunday morning at the tweed coast 3 to 4 foot outside break. Paddling back out after catching a wave and a pretty nice set was coming through I was thinking bugger I'm going to cop this on the head. I took the surfing stance ready to try and punch over the white water and started scrambling for the shoulder. It broke about ten metres infront of me and I'm thinking bailout because the board is at about 45 degrees to the wave. Anyway I tried to get over it and started getting sucked back dug the paddle in hard and spun around parellel to the wave and actually started to move with the wave for about 3 metres and then fell off. I was more stoked at nearly making that wave than I was for the rest of the surf. Next time out in the waves give it a go and see if you can pull it off (the wave wazza).

Good one Clarky..

So you almost went from getting hammered to doing a floater back onto the wave?.. .. Do you think if the board had stayed straight you would have made it over?.

It's like that windsurfing.. It's amazing that you can make it over some white water if you get the nose up and then weight forward and think positive thoughts..

The best buzz I had was windsurfing into a top to bottom closeout about head high and having enough speed and sail power to sail up the waterfall and making it over.

I was going to finish it this arfo but the wind is to strong, it doesn't look good for tomorrow either. I put the board in at the boardroom to get a price on fixing it, hope it won't be to expensive. If the seaway to seaway leaves from runaway bay I'm screwed. Lets pray for a big southerly change.
