finally bit the bullet and bought myself a Hobie Colin Mc Philips LB SUP , after years and years of contruction work I thought my days of catching waves were over , I hadnt stood up on a wave for 7-8 years ,severe back pain making me wince every time I thought about trying to get to my feet but I kept having a recurring dream of cruising on a perfect 2-3 foot wave , kneeboarding was my only connection with surfing but it just never felt right and I just wanted that recurring dream to be real . I have only been SUPing for two weeks and I'm hooked, been out every day over the Xmas period , started out in the lake and within a week was out in the surf, total kooked it to start but was always out on a bank on my own so I just kept laughing at myself!
Acouple of days ago before I returned to work it all came together , perfect late arvo glassy 2 foot surf with me an just one other , it was just perfect for a couple of hours and on the last wave after taking it to the beach I realised this was what I had been dreaming about for the last 7-8 years, I still cannot wipe the smile of my face

Awesome mate, at the end of the day it dosn't matter what we ride or how good or bad we think we are, just so long as we keep the stoke that we had when we were younger and of course look out for our fellow water users with the right etiquette.

Johnnyclash.... I frickin' love stories like this. Stoke reborn and a life actually changing right before your eyes. Does it get any better than that?

Go Johnny, GO!

Good onya Johnny, now you've got the last 8 years worth of waves to catch up on.....I know exactly how you must feel having had 5 years bodysurfing after back issues kicked in. Go forth and froth.
