Sorry, but i dont find that inspiring, anything or anyone that is violent against women does not need to projected in a good or bad light in some surfing vid.........I for one would not be supporting this

violence is not the answer!

Agreed. Who was the guy hitting the girl? Was that Paul Morriati If so why would we help support that

Edit, just checked and seems Paul Morriati is some young guy form NZ. Not really sure what Splinters is all about but the 2 minutes i just saw has really pissed me off..

It was the first part that I found inspiring the rest hit me like a hammer...I think the vid was about portraying reality not glorifying violence...I hope..

Such a shame that something that started so positive had to end in such a negative way. Any guy that beats on a girl belongs behind bars regardless of how good they are at their sport.

Seems bizarre someone can post that video and then ask for money to help them.

disturbing for sure, but a reflection of life in remote png. Was there as a aus govt observer in the early 80s. Cannibalism was supposedly being still practiced in wewak. In a fledgling country with hundreds of diffferent language groups its always going to be a long struggle to address the kind of inherent violence and cultural mysogony shown on the vid. Hopefully the introduction of surfing, and the economic and social exposure it brings will help address the violence and provide the community with new and better ways to address their differences.

PNG such a beautiful place and surfing a great sport. (Checkout Living The Stoke Dvd from Piros for proof)

Pity it is portrayed in a disturbing manner in this video.

Tough guy kicking the girl on the ground.. Not

Maybe introduce him to Sunny Garcia and see how he goes.
