There's a JP 10'2 x 35 Wide Body for sale at an ok price... would it be too wide for

A. 65kg wifely beginner to paddle around in river & sometime maybe do yoga or other sup fitness stuff - I saw some new class advertised the other day..?

B 100kg beginner to start in river & progress into small surf.

I'm a bit broken currently & she's growing another mini-KBD so stability is good for now.

The only review I can find is pretty positive (thanks Oldboy) but it does look huge in those pics!!

Anyone else tried one or updates Oldboy?

What he said. 100kg isn't big for a board like that but if you're carrying an injury you will relish the stability. As will Mrs KBD for her yoga. (there's a bigger differential b/w Mrs Cartoon and me, I'm more than a foot taller and about 50kg heavier, my wide boards are OK for her for just cruising around but for paddling a bit harder she prefers something narrower).

(still doing a bit of L.D.P. K.B.D? I try to get out when I C.A.N. which isn't ofT.E.N. enough )

I think you'd grow out of it real quick. I reckon for your size the fusion 10'2 would be a good long term fit

Go for it. If it's a good price and you decide later you want to go smaller you'll sell it easily .... or might just decide you want to keep it and get a smaller one for different conditions.

Oh no

Broken kingpin? Occupational hazard with LDP...grade 8's and/or bearing hangers are a must IMO.

I had a lucky(?) escape a couple of years ago - the one day I didn't wear an elbow pad I binned it and chipped a bone in the pointy bit (nurse in A&E looked at my birth date on the forms..looked at me...looked at the forms and said...you did this HOW?? ). Painful enough but nowhere near as dire as yours. Hope you mend well mate.

No it seems that the bennet hangar on my mini pumper has a rough/sharp lump, like it's been hit or something. so unless that happened in the accident I'm guessing it kinda sawed thru the 1 month old riptide bushing. Bushing split and dropped out mid pump. Nose dropped onto wheel. I kept going, 100kgs onto elbow. Knuckle/dogbone of humerous split into multiple parts.. plus doc had to cut it some more to get access to screw it all together. Joint healing well but the nerves still playing up, left hand's dodgy.

So - no kiting or skating in my immediate future.

Anyway, on a brighter not I just pulled trigger on the widebody, yay I can't actually lift it on/off car at moment but we'll cross that bridge...
