Hi all, I'm just getting into SUP and am looking at a 11'6 board, I am 6'2 about 105kg, my big question is will it be a good all rounder or is something around the 10'6 mark a better option, Cheers Box

hey man, i'm a 120kg 6.3" and ride a emery 10.4" (see profile pics) wicked ride in flat and surf. Had the fortune to have a good relationship with the local guru who allowed me to try all the boards in his shop from 14" to 9.6 fish tail (which sunk with me on it) but settled on my baby which suits my needs to a tee. Borrow, rent for at least 20 rides before coughing up some serious cash (unless you have it) but have fun man you'll love it what ever you decide on :)

Anything but a 10' Bonga..

Just wondering..

What type of 11'er is it because there's an 11' NSP mal (26" wide) out there that won't be much fun.. but there's also an 11' NSP SUP (31" wide) that would be perfect.

Its 11x30x4 5/8, Hopefully should be good in the surf on my own and I should be able to get the kids on it with me in the smooth stuff, Box

Hey BH - if you can get a kalama 11.6 for a good price (well under a grand) then all you will have to do is get a carry handle put in it and you will have one of the best sups ever made. They are a bit heavy but they paddle nice and surf great and are just a really really fun and tough board. Yeah, they chip up along the rails but thats no biggy compared to how capable this big beasty is. Many suppers started their paddling/surfing on this board and you will be hard pressed to find anyone who would give a negative report on the board.
