Going down to Batemans Bay for the weekend.

A high pressure system well south of the Bight is expected to move slowly east into the Southern Tasman Sea over the next couple of day, while a low pressure system forms off the NSW South Coast tomorrow then moves to the northeast on Saturday. The interaction between these systems will bring strong to gale force southerly winds to the coast Friday and Saturday. Conditions are expected to ease later on Saturday and during Sunday as the low moves away and the high extends a ridge over the coast.

If by you "sea supping" you mean paddling a non surf SUP in the ocean, then perhaps put in a Bega, wear 2 leggies, a life jacket, carry a flare, phone, 2 way radio, and have a support vessell the size of the QE2.................yes possibly this is not the weekend for your first "sea supping".............

Probably not a good idea, Port Kembla port is already closed tonight with no vessels entering or leaving the harbour .Winds reported to get up to 60-70 knots. unfortunately these winds seem to hang around for a day or two.

It turned out all right! Didn't do too much Stand Up paddling - more like Stand Up Fall Off then Kneel Up paddling - but I caught my first EVER wave on a board of any sort, didn't fall off, at the tender age of . . . um, if I was born in early 1951 how old does that make me? (And is that a record for a late starter?)

Proud, happy, and stoked. And tired.

Spent all my childhood in the surf on NSW south coast, but too poor for a board.

But the best bit: Spending ten minutes with a dozen dolphins.

Shire: I'm thinking an Avanti sounds good!
