Query, JB - I get paranoid about the heat & vent. Is it possible to replace the standard vent screw in a 2015 Mana GS with a goretex type so I'd have one less thing to think about?

You could source one, however I suggest continual checks to ensure it is working. Always the safetest the old Skool way.
1. Keep your board out of the heat.
2. Ensure there is air ventilating (it may not be all that hot, but with no air movement, your board will become extremely hot).
3. If in doubt, open the breather.
4. Always return your breather tight and ready before even the slightest exposure to moisture.

Treat your board like your baby, if you wouldn't leave a child in that heat, do something about it.

Generally the only fail on the Old Skool is human error. Human error can happen on both std and goretex vents. I strongly recommend not over using your vent screw, in majority of conditions, your board is fine to leave tightly sealed (I actually never release mine, but I am conscious of the heat on my boards).

This whole thread is regarding the very hot weather (hotter than usual) we are experiencing at the moment in Australia, Not to start a debate about Goretex vs Std vents. I basically just want to help everyone keep their boards safe this summer. Thank you for your input as always Colas, but the point is existing boards right now.

Some brands don't have vent screws for some reason...boards that I have had with no vent plug have been Deep, Fanatic...one got cooked on my car roof in a bag in Spring in NZ! Suffered massive delamination. The board was ****ed. Not even in super hot summer temps so I was not happy!
