What a great day, Got up early this morning to catch the decent swell. On the 8'10", it was a little bit rocky, but there was some great size this morning, and I really got to push the 8'10". Man this board is fast!

Then after FD Lunch (an awesome BBQ) I went for a quick paddle in front of my house on the 10' Mana. The more I paddle this board the more I like it. This is me paddling in front of my Fathers boat, guiding him to the moring.

And the Misses joined me for a couple of strokes on the 10' Mana

But the high light was taking Jake (my son) for a cruize. He'll be 2yo in 2 weeks, and he absolutely loves SUP. He calls "Daddy, Daddy, I'm surfing". Then "Go faster" the whole time. This is the 4th time Jake has come paddling with me, and I am looking forward to taking him in the waves soon.

Well I'm stoked with the day, hope all you other dads had as nice a day as I.

Game on bro, breeding the next world champs here!

Did you get some snaps? I always get on Katie back for not snapping when Jake and Jessica come paddling with me, finally got some, so proudly showing the world my little man can SUP.

Hope you had a good one Dog!

Excellent stuff guys. My little bloke is only 7 months old, so still a little on the young side to get on a board but I can't wait to get him out there next year.

Yer AUS, 7 months is probably a bit young. I think I took Jake for his first paddle around this time last year, so he would have been around that 12 months mark. If you get one of the life jackets like Dog has on his little girl in the shot, you can lock them in between your legs. My daughter normally loves it also, but today she sooked out, I don't want to discourage her so backed off today. I bring my boards into the house and practice with the gromm to get their confidence up, If they know what to do, it's heaps easier.

Make sure you post some picks when you go for your first session.

Great stuff JB.. and great pictures thanks (both you and DogMan).

I was stuck inside at work all day and it was cold/wet and crappy outside.

One thing about Melbourne is that you really appreciate the good days when you get them..

That 10' Mana looked plenty floaty enough for paddling with a kid on board.

Plenty of volume. I tried with me and Katie, and we were going fine, but she didn't want to risk falling in, so aborted the mission. I will be easy to paddle with both my gromms.

Great thread JB. There is nothing like sharing your stoke with your own kids. I have a son Jake too and he is 4. He is already catching small waves with me on my Starboard 11'2. The other day my 7 year old daughter asked me if I could take her out for a paddle. It was a bit too windy but when the weather fines up I will have her paddling the Starboard 8'5

The still hitch a ride as you can see from the avatar!!

Thanks rez, he is going to be a bit of heart breaker if I do say so myself. You should get one of your own Cluck cluck cluck, Sorry Jake.

I wish I was fitter, Jake just keeps yelling at me to go faster, no time for a rest with the slave master on board!

JUst read the thread

It is good to see people sharing this with their family. My kids love to go for a surf or a paddle. The little man has to live with his big sisters lifejacket though.

Second is out of focus

She like to go out on her own.

Good eye Casso, GB42. Special edition 1 of 4 built. It was supposed to be a one of a kind for the owner of GB, but when people saw it in the factory there was 3 more sold. It's not really the type of walk through wet type boat, but there is plenty of room on the deck to set up for boards. I've strapped 3 SUP's across the front before with ease, BUt my old man watches like a hawk
