Just had my first session on the 10'8, having learnt on the southpoint Bonga 10', I wanted something my wife and kids could use, be stable and floaty but still able to surf. All in all this board is great, it felt huge to start with, but very quickly dialed in to that, caught the waves a fair bit earlier than the Bonga, good if you don't like taking off in the crital section, and most importantly for me it TURNS! real surfing not just set your line and go. A great board super stoked.

Hello PJ,
I also have the Bonga (that I really like) and few JL on the way, actually ever size ....
I'm curious about your comment "it TURNS", I found that the Bonga also turn very well, actually the best I tried till today!
Let me know.
Bye Jankie

I agree, the Bonga is great for surfing, I never expected to find a board as large as the Jimmy Lewis 10'8" that you could really surf. Lay the bonga and JL side by side and the JL looks huge. I am 77kg and could bottom turn it very easily and redirect with only small movement up and down the board. Obviously it is not as much of a surf board as the Bonga but still it is a great board, you will love it when you get yours and hopefully be as surprised as I was. Have fun.

At 110 kg the 10 8 was a small board for me after learning on the Naish 11 6. Would agree with Pumpnjump it rips.
