Has anyone ridden one of these yet? I heard there are few around.

How would it compare with the naish 14?

I've ridden one and they're a very nice board.. but more of an all-rounder cruiser board rather than a real down winder board.

The Naish 14 is the latest greatest state or the art hard core down wind board..IMO.. yeah I like it.. ..but I wouldn't take it near the surf.

The Bark is a little more of a big surfboard shape and would be great for lakes and rivers.. Maybe you could surf it.. and it does quite well on the down-winders also.

Here's an old post of mine comparing it to my 12' Glide.. www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=46538&SearchTerms=Bark,14

Thanks for the tip DJ

Sorry for the late reply I'm in Hawaii & not thinking to much about the computer

A mate just brought one of the 14' Bark's & said he really likes it, I'm definately looking for a good down wind board not a cruiser.

Hi Mini and DJ, have a feeling that things have moved on pretty significantly from the 14' Bark you tried DJ. There is quite a range now, I'd really find out more about the exact board you are looking at Mini before you write off the Bark, although saying that, Joe Bark does seem to focus on flat water boards rather than down wind boards.

January 14, 2010 (Santa Cruz, CA) – The 14 foot Bark Expedition was named “Best Stand Up Paddleboard” in the Dec 2009/Jan 2010 issue of the Men’s Journal. The “Gear of the Year” issue awards top honors to the best outdoor products of 2009. Other “Gear of the Year” honorees included notable brands such as Oakley, Canon, Rolex, BMW, Mountain Hardware and GoPro among other prestigious brands. “We couldn’t be happier with this honor.” said the board’s designer Joe Bark. “I worked with my top team guys here in California and in Hawaii testing out countless 14 foot boards over the course of more than a year until we found the magic formula. We were designing boards that would paddle well in flat, calm water and in rough, choppy seas. We had our guys test the boards in oily glass conditions as well as open ocean

i got a hold of an old vortice and i'm really enjoying it- so much fun, you can go surfing on this one. this is going to be the main class of board imo. affordable, doable and they just seem like a nice fit. i wonder if anyone is going to do a rudder , that would be real good.some how it would have to have a locking device that would satisfy race officials too
