GReat little vid, how good does the board look when the sun came out. It's amazing too, with a couple of runners, just how quickly you opened up the gap between you and the person behind. Awesome tune too!!

Thanks Sue. Beautiful start to the day. I'm envious of the warm country paddle. Southern Ocean is getting to be pretty challenging in the early morning here. I really enjoyed seeing the long boards working over distance. Stay well, have fun.

Hey Craig... Personally I still like the F16 over here in these conditions. I do like steering systems as I'm still learning to surf runs and guide boards on runs without them. Although I actually felt really comfortable on the F16 on Kauai that had no steering system. It was an older one and was very stable. It forced me to step back on the board more...something I'm reluctant to do at times. I keep telling myself to "leave the pedal..leave the pedal".

Yesterday I did a Maliko run on the F16 that Danny raced on and it was one of the most memorable paddles I've ever done. Even though alone I loved every minute of it. I learnt alot. And I had to leave the pedal often otherwise I think I would have nose dived often.

I understand that the F16 is made for the Maui conditions and in particular the Maliko run. But then if you talk to others on Oahu, the 14' Vortice is very popular on Hawaii Kai runs and across the Kawai Channel.

I love any board here that you are lucky enough to be able to use through the generousity of others.

Cheers Sue ,interesting to see differant types of boards are better suited for differant downwinders around the hawaiian islands .
We are going over to Hawaii in Sept ,would love to do a downwinder then
