Keep your surf loks oiled

Went for a usual 8k flat water paddle,put the car key in my reasonably cheap surflok,attached to the tow bar.Came back couldn't unlock it,had to borrow a phone ring a mate.The damn thing had frozen,spent 1/2 hr with a sledge hammer and other tools to break it open.Lucky it was attached to the towbar.
Moral look after your equipment,don't just buy the cheapest,spray the things with WD 40, off to Lennox now to buy a better quality one

In most cases, do not oil / spray locks, its sticky and traps dirt, moisture.

Get some Graphite Powder and lube your locks.
