I don't think the mindset of the athlete that pays for coaching is less then that that does not.
I would be happy to pay for expert advice in training in this sport if there was someone wanting to coach a group who has the right background and expertise.
I am not saying there is a
'need' for me to pay to stay motivated but when there is a small fee, training groups in any sport often have more regular attendance. Just is what it is. Also what works for some should not be knocked by others. Difference is the beauty of being. Does not mean they are training for the wrong reasons.
I have been intrinsically motivated to organise and participate in training session, time trials and events on the Sunshine Coast for years. Never miss it and no financial gain.
I paddle because I enjoy it and it keeps me relatively fit. No more no less. No illusions of grandeur.
Just saying it is not wrong to pay
or have free sessions. And agreeing with other that
sometimes in some activities you do get better attendance when there is a fee. I have had this in business.
Not saying this applies to all groups as personalities like your crew and coaches with their expert knowledge can motivate people to attend. What your crew does is great and I am not knocking it or referring to it.
Now back to the last 200 report cards. Gee they make me happy
And Rusty... Your studying chemical engineering cause it pulls all the chicks????
