Good move I reckon.

QS shares were valued at $16USD and went down to $.70 last year. They are giving him a 7 figure bonus and $22Mil of shares at a very low price each.

The story is here:

I hope Billabong give AI's widow and his kid something to assist with their future financial security.

Im sure I will get RED thumbed to no end here....infact the thumbing button may explode....

BUT why? he was a pro surfer, well looked after not only by Billabong but other sponsers...he also ernt good income from comps...he had his OWN problems and chose to live his life that way...that lead to an early grave....why should Billabong pay out more becasue the public see a nice guy on tv....he didnt save any lives nor fight for his country or make some enviromental discovery....

If I die building your home for a pretty average wage, considering the value of a home, will you look after my family????

IF Billabong continues to sell AI product then yes his family should get his cut.

Let it be said that I have not thumbed you here but I think you're right. The button may explode on this one! 'And that's all I got to say about that' - Forest Gump.

Most companies have insurance that pays out to the beneficary of the will when someone in their employment is lost whilst getting to or from the workplace. One would think that this is the case on this one. One would also assume that Billabong had key employment insurance on AI which will be paid out on (provided the medical results are all above board). Then we have the other issue about will they pay something out to his wife and family - one wd expect they would look out for them if they are good corporate citizens. Also it would be fair to assume that AI was paid in part in shares / equity - especially when it was listed. There would probably be some royality benefits as well from products etc. One wd also hope that he received solid financial advice along the way and had a life insurance policy as well. Fingers crossed all should be ok for the AI family.

Its fair to say though that KS10 will be fine...............

I was thinking along the insurance line as well for both parties....although he may have void that with his recreational drug use.....only the coroners report and lawers/compinaies will adress that.

At the end of the day, I can see the whole share the wealth side of things and people will say that Billabong made money from AI...but in turn AI made money and had the support of Billabong....

His wife while well set up may have to find work....wouldnt be the first time a mum/widow had to.

Has anyone remembered KS promise to donate 10 million to charity if he did 10?

How will he do that if he took stock?
