I think the only shop here that really stocks a lot of Kialoa paddles is SHQ..

I'm sure the other stores (RPS and The Zu) can order them..

I have a couple of Kialoa Insanity paddles.. I use mine most days.. It's an awesome paddle.. It's so light and paddles beautifully..

The blade looks like nilon or plastic but it's actually carbon fiber (they also do a fiberglass version) but instead of using an epoxy type resin they use polypropylene..

It's a shame that more shops don't stock Kialoa..

I mostly use the Hulu small [87 sq in] now in the surf [round shaft]..

and a slightly longer Hulu small for downwinding and for racing [oval shaft]..

and I mostly use a slightly longer again Insanity paddle for daily paddling at St Kilda or the river.. and I sometimes use it for downwinding..

I also use it for when I use my 12'6 or 14 in the surf because the edge of the blade is slightly softer if I hit the board while in the surf..

and I also use the Insanity paddle on longer distances because it's softer on my old joints..

It's interesting what Dave says about the Hulu small in this first vid considering I think it was originally designed as a youth and lady's race paddle..

#t=22

#t=19

I'm paadling with the Insanity in this vid..
