Rule Number 1 - you can't come on here and just tell us about a board. It must be accompanied with pictures !!

yewwwwwwwww green menace and mags

i just got in from a sick session on my ice cream scoopout weapon

6ft bombs with heaving backhand barrels and the occassional long rippable wall

best waves on the new stick and by far the best conditions ive been in this year total glass and the board loved it......by the way so did i...lol.....

sorry no footage as i left my camera at home again which is lucky cause i probably wouldnt have caught anything if it was rolling anyway

meet the young guy that works for dale chapman in the car park "what a nice young man" saw him and his mate get a few heavy ones down the beach on there shortboards

rock on

You deffinitely dont want to lend it , the rails need protection, carbon paddles are stronger than the epoxy on the rails,. otherwise all is good. performance is very aggresive, had a surf yesterday at secret spot (ha ha) waist high, the board took to it ,not sluggish in any way.

Is your paddle cracking the resin or just shattering the glass matting under the filler coat?

My FiberFlex has got lots of cosmetic shatters along the black rails but none of them have broken the seal or are letting in water.

You can't feel them at all if you close your eyes and rub your hands down the rail - which I do quite often ... feels niiiice. Mmmmmm.

Looks the **** Green Menace- Must be sooo much lighter without deck grip but eye spy the tell tale melted foot patches - once your feet are all waxed up I guess you can run anywhere on the board though!
No seriously- Tried out Mags' hugemongous boat and it felt really good- the 8'8" must rock.

Congrats on the glass walled giants Dogman

Sponsership seems to be doing a lord of the rings number on you Casso- how many times a week do you catch yourself rubbing your rails in the dark whispering "my precious"

Sorry mags- I know the boards you ride are short for you but being the feather weight that I am they're always going to be harder for me to turn etc. I reakon if you adjusted for height/weight factor you are definitely riding shorter sups then me, much respect.

You know chris, there is no magic number for volume, its all personal. @ 92kg, 103 litres is perfect for me.

Have been thinking about the scooped deck concept, can definetly see how a lower standing postition would feel better when surfing but it also increases the percentage of volume on the rails, making them fuller.

Scotty- the percentage of volume in the rails goes up because there's less volume in the overall board, but if the absolute rail thickness stays the same, wouldn't you get the same rail performance, with lowered center of gravity (enhanced balance)?

Or do I have it wrong and they are scooping the deck out and icing the rails with the excess so that overall volume stays the same and the rails become thicker?

Mags-
You're right, it's got to come down to the style you enjoy. I love long boarding, but prefer shortboarding so that's why I've gone shorter sups. Manoeuvering the board on the wave probably has a lot more to do with style than strength anyway.
- probably over 100kg if you add style into the mix - surfing has always been something i'm passionate about and enjoy immensely, despite a complete lack of natural talent- doesn't matter how **** I do in comps etc, I'll just keep enjoying the stuggle to get better. Sorry if I offended earlier.
Peace.
