Armed with my Chrissie present of a new O&E One 9ft leash I had a great paddle on at North Av this morning. I was hit by a large set and enjoyed a wee board pull. The result is that my 9 ft leash is now 11 feet! Pretty amazing to think how long the leash would have been at full stretch. I really liked the 9ft leash for small days, less drag, easy to recover the board. Now I have an 11 foot leash.

I had just ordered the 10ft SUP leash with the idea to use that for a day like today. When I returned home, there was the 10 foot, 8mm thick leash in the postbox!

Anyone know how the leash could shrink back a bit? Does leaving it in the sun shrink it back a bit.

I've heard that putting it in the oven will make it return to its original size/length.

I have had it on a black railing in the sun and after a few hours the leash has lost 1 foot and is now only 10 feet! That oven idea is becoming interesting...

A stretchy leash is a happy leash.

Unless waves are big, I prefer the stretchy leashes to the ones that jerk me around like a marionette. I like the O&E ones in particular because I've never had them sling-shot my board back at me afterwards.

Also have a 9.5mm leash, from diff mfgr. That thing's insane.
