The locally designed/made race boards have picked up really good results at both Noosa and the malfuntions races. Both of these races were held in relatively flat conditions so it will be interesting to see what happens when we have a few downwind races.

Here are some of the results. I think they are accurate so please correct me if I made any mistakes:

Malfunction – Open Unlimited

Danny Sheard – DC17
Troy Pease - Secret Agent Stealth Tri-Hull 17
Dale Chapman – DC14

Malfunction - Mens 12'6"

Travis Grant - DC
Andy Davies - DC
Candice Appleby - Lahui Kai

Malfunction - Womens

Candice Appleby – Lahui Kai
Sue Sheard – DC17
?

Noosa - Open Unlimited

Danny Sheard - DC17
Dale Chapman - DC14
Mark Huxley - SIC18

Noosa - Mens 12'6"

Troy Pease - Secret Agent
Travis Grant - DC
Sam Rollinson – C4?

Noosa - Womens 12'6"

Candice Appleby – Lahui Kai
Sue Sheard - DC
Jenny Ryan - DC

It was also good to see both Troy and Dale get consisent results in both races on their own designs. Dale was on his DC14 in both races and Troy was on his Secret Agent 12'6" at Noosa and Secret Agent 17' tri at the Malfunction.

(For the record: I am independant but keenly support the home grown products)

It was interesting seeing Sam on the C4 12'0 HoloHolo production board, a mid rockered design that has not changed in over 4 years do so well.

Just goes to show that most people into racing are into custom boards and are after the latest greatest in a sport that's evolving fast.. and also because there's not much out there in the way of production boards that are competitive..yet.

It's great to have a local Aussie that's making race boards that are at a world class standard.. I heard that the Hawaiians were blown away with DC's latest shape.

It might end up like the Bob McTavish and Dick Drewer thing all over again..
