I assume you are referring to Jervis Bay.

In 1987 I surfed a spot called mini-pipe at Summercloud Bay near JB.This break was used in the surf movie Mad Wax. The name says it all - hollow left. Backdoor works as well, just look out for a rock that pops up. This only works in South swell and NE blows off shore.

Scotty its called aussie pipe and yes I surfed it for years, thanks for that, I was hoping for a SUP friendly wave that was out of this insane wind. Ended up going for a windSUP and may I say the Starboard 9-5 with the windsurfing option works quite well.

Cheers Greg. I'm in the same boat up at Port Stephens with a howling NE - hard to find a sheltered spot to Sup. I may need to take up a wind sport on the side.

WindSUPing rocks I have just got rid of all my sailboards cause I was SUPing all the time but when the wind is up the Starboard works well as a sailboard as well and gives me more time on the water.

Cheers

Hey Gumballs,
I checked Birubi out early this morning and that very small carpark on the point was full and didn't fancy a 800m walk with the PSH 10'10 under the arm. It looked the goods though with min 30 blokes out on sb,lb & 1 Sup. The boys drive their 4wd's accross the dunes and park on the shore. Next year we'll take the Mrs Prado and go the dunes - that's the go. Yes, the NE blows off shore their a treat.

I had a quick go at kiting and will admit its a pretty cool sport (although my ability to stay on the board and not under the water was limited). Im a sailboarder so throwing a sail on a SUP is always going to be my preference. I did actually see kite SUPing on the internet the other day.

Be carefull in those dunes William Town airbase aint to far away theres rumours of unexploded bombs lying around in the scrub behind the beach.Id stick to the beach at all times.P.S.the wreck of the Signa is down Stockton end that gets good too.

I got it waist height and off shore for the early today. My 1st early in 20 years.
Cheers for the advice on those bombs - I'll ensure I stick to the regular tracks when I get to 4wd. I reckon there were 20 4wd's on the shore today - beats looking for parking spot.
