This morning at Lancelin I had my sucker cam on the front of my paddle board until I got a flogging and it came off.
Its a blue dent puller and had a clear plastic bottle cable tied to it for a float.
My camera is a waterproof Olympus 770.
Please keep a look out for it if your in Lancelin.
Thanks.

Dam it, That sucks big time i hope you find it or someone finds it.

This is the only fear i have with cameras. If i pay the clams for one i always think i may snap it off. Even with a float i guess it will head out to sea rather than the shore.

This morning at Long Reef I had my sucker cam on the front of my paddle board until I got a flogging and it came off.
Its a yellow dent puller and had an orange float cable tied to it for a float.
My camera is a waterproof GoPro Wide.

...... but I paddled around for 15 mins and finally found it! Woo hoo.

Sorry for your loss Greeny. Maybe it'll turn up. Fingers crossed.

Would you think its better to not have the gopro surf sticky plate vs the dent puller

It seems the dent pullers are well... pulling off

Hey Dee Jay I was out at SP.
I saw it and swam for it but a wave got to it first.
After paddling around looking for it for a while I gave up.
Obviously its the camera I want back. The dent puller only cost me $7 and the bottle I got from the recycle bin hehehe.
I take my camera every where. Its indestructable and very handy.
Thinking I might have to get a GoPro now? Wider lense. All though the new Olympus is ment to have a wider lens?

Hey Kev how are you? Hope to catch up for a few windsurfs with you this season?
I got the dent puller from SuperCheap.

Yeah the bottle does float the camera but I couldnt find an orange float anywhere.
I checked fishing shops and places like Kmart and Big W but no joy there.
It was pretty big surf today and alot of water moving around. I was trying to look for the camera but also trying to keep my head above water. Was hoping that it was gonna get pushed out into the channel. but couldnt see it there.
Im hoping it floats to the the beach and someone picks it up.

That's a bummer Greenie about your camera.. Those bright orange donut shaped floats are what water skiers use to float the rope I think.. I hope it turns up.. It's a shame you couldn't find a bright colored bottle.

Hey Greenie,

Sorry to hear about the cam its a reall bummer.

I have plenty of orange floates form a garage sale PM me an address and I will send one to you.

Be aware in heavy wipe outs the bottles burst the caps off and then sink unless you seal them with silicone. Oh and as we found out at bridge port the orange floats can rupture and fill up with water lol ask Brooko.

No word on the camera return Greeny ?

Was thinking abut your loss and a little message in the bottle with return details and offer of reward would have been the go (Hindsight... always 20/20)

For the plastic fluro float options, I reckon a painted mobile number and reward if found message might act as a little insurance if/when the sucker cam lets go and can't be found on the water ?

Spewin Roomie,
Mine got ripped off my board back in March(while still filming) and got washed into a rock cave.I hung around wondering up and down the beach till I found it,battered and scratched and still running.
When I uploaded the footage I was funny as seeing the camera getting hammered in the cave.the housing leaked about a month later and killed the camera.
Such is life, and waterproof cameras hey?

PS I was missing your clips to Bro, bummer

Maybe try posting it on the zone - looking at the map of the world if it floats it could turn up in Thailand, Madagaster, Somalia or somewhere else in the world in a few years time.

Greenroom, There is an unseen law of nature, a cosmic all knowing, all seeing force that makes all lost objects re appear in one of two places . 1. behind the fridge. 2. in the glovebox of an ex girlfriends car. Ours is not to reason why

I checked behind the fridge and found nothing but fluff and dead cockies
Just gotta look up the ex. Wonder if she has the same car? Hope not, those back seats were well and truely soiled
