Its definatly a surf race board the volume in the nose will allow it to pop over waves I think in the flat water you should try the ace 25 wide
by the way do you guys do races races in the surf or just flat water bay beaches I was in Wye River surf club for a few years and think it would a good venue for a bop race with Apolla Bay being your 2nd spot if the surf was to big at Wye River
Our races are all held at flat water bay beaches around Melbourne, though we did have a short demo race punching into a 30knot wind with head high swell, but that was a disaster.
We also raced as part of the Victorian SUP Surfing Championships run by Surfing Victoria earlier this year down at Torquay but the surf was so small that day, they had to downgrade the surfing comp to an expression session.
Hopefully we'll get a BOP style or surf race going next summer.
