It's only a couple of weeks away , there is SUP surfing and Racing divisions .Ron House will be at the event and there is a whisper of him bringing one of his Hawaiian team riders out so get in and enter or come down and watch and see local gurus like Ray Gleave rip it up on Sup.

You are right Ron House will be attending with at least one team member.
As well as being at the beach Ron will be our guest at the Luau dinner on the Saturday night. (We will try and get him to say a few words after dinner).
You can get tickets to the dinner by phoning 0414569208

Andrew these are apx prices only the DC12-6 $2,000 +gst for the glass model and $2,500 +gst Full carbon model.

The reason why I sold the my DC16 was simply because it was too hard to store at my house , plus the wife and kids had trouble paddling it and by dropping down a class I had a better chance of getting up near the front in a race...but with Jacko and Woogie dropping down that theory has gone out the window. So overall the 12-6 is just a more practical board for me.

Cheers Piros i have paddled one of Dales 17ft boards and i know they are great , the 12.6 sounds great too, but i just cant justify that sort of coin at the moment.
But i will give the malfunction paddle a go on my pSH 10.6 it glides O.K.

Piros

I'm interested in competing in the Malfunction race, and would like to get a 12'6 race board prior to this..... Whats the lead time on these ?

I paddle from the Isle of Capri some arvo's, dependent on work, where abouts from Sorrento do you paddle and would enjoy a paddle alongside you to see what pace these boards produce.

I generally paddle from my place around Isle of capri about 45min paddle pending tide & wind ect , Dales boards are CNC shaped so he can knock one out in a few days he is making another couple at the moment as all his first 3 are sold , give him a call 0416160335 or w.55937411 or drop around to his factory at West Burleigh and check out the boards being made. He still has my board at the moment hopefully I'll get it back tomorrow.

Hey Piros
Should bring it down to the currumbin paddle that we do on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 and see how it compares to the other boards. There's a few of us starting to do a lot of training and would be good to get some different boards in the mix

A new DC12'6 can be made within 3 days including indeck handle hole.

One is available now that Mr Aussiewahine paddled in the noosa race yesterday.

Jacko, will you have your Naish 18' for the malfunction race?

I just rang Sean the Organiser. They are still accepting entries for the 8km SUP race and will accept them on the day. There is no limit in numbers for the 8km race on Sunday 29th March.

Looks like the Hyundai Malfunction is going to cop some serious swell if all the surf forcasters are right. Bring it on.
Entries for the Ron House SUP Surfing have closed and surfing will begin on Friday. There will be 4 heats of 6 competitors. There will be 50% progression so 2 x 6 man semis & 1 x 6 man final.
Prizemoney brekadown will now be 1st $400, 2nd $300, 3rd $200, 4th - 6th $100 each.

I just read this on the site

"Please note all times are NSW DST and program may be subject to change"

So does that mean that the race starts at 9 am QLD time?

Ahhhh - if only Noosa could have had those conditions. Now we will see who is the real "pseudo" Australian Champion - in real waves.

Just let it go - in those conditions the finalist where sorted out. In competition you have to deal with what waves you get - it comes down to who is the best contest surfing and what the judges see

SUP should be expression sessions as there are so many talented people out there that are not good contest surfers.
