Top run that one. Any idea if we need a certain number of SUP entries for our race to go ahead or are there no minimum numbers.
Cheers

I don't think there's a minimum number needed. I'll check with Colin.

Are you still ridin the "metrosexual" sup. Maybe you should shave your legs for less wind resistance.

I met Colin today who is running the outrigging regatta on the day and he is the one that is including this down wind race as well. He's a top bloke and very enthusiastic and really keen to have as many sup's as possible.

Just an update on the Mandurah update and also a clinic on oc1 paddling that some may find useful.

"A couple of changes, the OC1 clinic will now be on Monday 1st March
(Long weekend) at 10pm at the Old Sailing Club Mandurah.

And the registration and fee for The Cut Race has now changed. It's
going to be done thru the Canoeing WA system and be only $15 each.
I'll send you the details soon. So ignore the first package.
cheers

Col"

This might sound like a stupid question but are you saying the race is on the 1st now not the 14th ?

Yep that's short. If you want something a bit bigger there are a couple of people who have spare 11'2 that I have borrowed before. Weren't you going to do The Doctor on a 12'6 or 16'? Or is my memory blending mutiple threads.

Heh Shep that is short.

Just need to make sure my mate does not want to the race but if he is not you are welcome to use my 11'2 board as i will be on my 12'6.

Will let you know. that distance on a 9'8 board will be a struggle.

Hey Surf4fun - yeah I had GS's DC12'6 lined up for the Dr but put my back out on boxing day - havnt been able to paddle since but hoping to give it a try out this weekend.

Zimbo - have done plenty of 10km flat water paddles on the 9'8 (albeit at a leisurly pace) but anything bigger would be an advantage.

See how my back handles this weekend.

Cheers

Are many people looking at doing this race and the Crab fest race the week earlier? We could almost allocate points over the two races and find a combined winner if there are enough people doing both.

Not sure if I am missing something here but where does it finish? Is it at the Old Sailing Club and if so where is that?
Bit of a upwind leg for the Crab Fest race at the end.

It's all sorted now. The event details and maps are all up on the
Mandurah Outriggers Website www.mandurahoceanclub.com.au/

The entry fee for SUPs is now $15 and registration is through the
Register Now website www.registernow.com.au/secure/Register.aspx?ID=2454

There is no restriction on board size, they can use whatever floats!
