Well as stated the stand up paddle surfing event was run and won
surfing event
1st Richie lovett
2nd Andrew Cassidy
3rd Ben Apps
4th Sam Parker
the final was hotly contested in onshore slop well done to the finalist for making it through as all the heats were tough and great surfing was on offer even though there was a strong onshore wind and lack of swell but still fun was had by many. Well the results above must have been tight as Richie swam for his board for half the heat and Casso, Apps and sam were ripping so well done guys![;)also we have some photos and some video so will post that sometime soon.

Yeah fun morning, if not a little frustrating surfwise. Was great to see ex top 10 pro surfer Richie Lovett and surfing legend Bruce Raymond having a dig. The usual guys - Casso , Appsy and Sam were ripping also.

Jedi was on the video all morning so I will post some up when I can get the tape back off him

I learnt this morning that being fit for 'normal' surfing is very different to 'comp' surfing - nearly bloody killed me and it was only 2 foot!!!

yeah i agree was very hard work on the body!!!!!

I'd expect that from an old bloke like Goatman, but you Dan? Come on! It explains a lot though, you were on fire in your first round heat and I wondered why you didn't kick my butt in the semi.

Goatman had a shockingly hard semi and Appsy was unlucky in the final. I saw Sam get a great one on my way out after I hit the water late for the final (due to snapping a fin out on my first attempt at entering the water - duh). So overall, I'm super stoked with snagging a second from a red hot field - woooh!

Outstanding efforts from the girls with JB Mel getting better and better with every comp and Kialoa Sam beating one of the guys in her heat.

Well done to all those entered. Everytime I see you guys in the water your level of surfing has gone up a notch and it was awesome seeing that slop getting ripped apart.

hey goatman, i remember doing a first every shortboard comp a couple of years ago( you know the older blokes divisions). thought i was reasonably fit, man i was torn between when is this heat going to finish and ####, i need some more waves, how much more time is left
