Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a new board and probably doing the wrong thing, spending heaps of time analyzing all the stats of all the boards on the market. I'm down to two, one I have ridden and loved (and had decided on) and two, a McTavish 9' (the new red model). I'm about 80kg. I like riding in about the 4 foot mark on beach breaks that are fairly quick and powerful.
Has anyone ridden one or know of someone who has? If so what's the word?
Hey Div Sounds like youve already made up your mind but why not give Simon Forward at 4D surfboards in Ocean Grove a call. He will do you a true custom to your own specs. Sit down with him and work through the CAD program and if youve got time watch your blank go through the initial profiling stage. Epoxy glass job is bulletproof and light as! If you need some input there would be half a dozen guys on this forum alone who could help you out with the design stuff. Had mine now for about 5 weeks and couldnt be happier and it will cost a potload less than a Mac T CHEERS Sparx
G'day Div, had a surf on the 9' McSup at Sandy Point over cup weekend as SHQ sandringham have a demo available.I'd get in contact with them if your keen to try it and there location suits.I found the board performed well but as has been said many times before best to try it out yourself.Would agree with Sparx though for the price [close to $2000?] the customs are an attractive option, goodluck, Camo.
Hey mate... the lads were absolutely firing on these boards at the Manly Surf Fest... check the McTavish website in the next few days for pics to be posted... www.mctavish.com.au.... Ritchy Lovett won the event on the 9'0... Definately give it a go!
Hi Div, also just letting you know, there is a demo avail at RPS. The general feedback we've been getting from crew who have tried it is really positive!
Hey Div, how are you mate sounds like your getting closer to that perfect board What is the other one you are choosing from Also im sure Camo has a great board you could check out.
