Of course, being Melbourne, could be a totally different result by the time we get to Wed.

Anyone wanting to do a DW on Sunday and/or Monday morning?

Trying to make the most of the public holiday.

Forecast is for NNW, while only forecasting 18 knots @10am both days, it beats not paddling!

Hey. Keen to meet up for my first downwinder tomorrow. What's the setup... Meet at sandy at 10...what's the transport to get the boards to stkilda? Looking forward to it, been paddling heaps on the Patterson river, the canoe vic races and playing around in the chop on the bay, but really want to experience a continual downwinder...

Hi Michael,

Yep, the usual thing is to meet near the SHQ kiosk at Sandringham. A portion of the vehicles then ferry riders and boards to st kilda, and a portion stay at Sandringham to drop the st kilda vehicle owners back at their cars after the paddle has finished.

Just saw on the news that there was a pair of humpback whales cruising off Ricketts point this morning.
Anyone out paddling see them??
The experts seem to think that they might hang in Port Phillip for a couple of days.

I'm heading down for another surf tomorrow so I won't be there.. Sorry.. I hope there are at least two so you can do the car shuffle thing..

It's only going to be 10-15 knots. Tops..

We do have one planed for Monday with 20-25 knots forcast..

May not be worth it then...anyone still thinking of going...rather than drive out to sandy may just paddle local off Carrum

Enjoy the surf DJ, won't be able to make the Monday paddle, girlfriend arrives from Sydney for the week. Haven't seen her for 6 weeks...not sure she will appreciate being left at the airport while I join you guys
