Come on Windy, much more fun than windsurfing in a Northerly in Melbourne - did that for the last 20 years, no comparison!!!

Based on this chart it peaks about 10am before dropping off until about 4pm when it picks up again.

Would suggest an early or a late start.... or both

We have planned a 9.00-9.30 meet at Rickets point (City side of Kiosk) and then plan to head off from St Kilda at 10am sharp.

You guys are in for a ripper! You should take an umbrella and use that (like we did on skateboards back in the day) when ya arms get tired!

Most Epic downwinder I've done for a while. We were getting heaps of runners and many quite big. Taking the late drop on a few!

Bit of East in the wind so we stuck pretty close to shore. Got smashed big time when the front came through in the middle of the day. Jonos new Pene went well, though to be honest you could;ve been out there on a 9 foot board and the wind would still have hurled you.

Looking at the graph from today we got hit with 50 knot gusts..

What a hoot!..

I saw Oliver fall and his big 11'6" Naish went spinning through the air like a feather.

I had a fall and my Glide it took off giving me a tap on the head as it flew past me.. Thank God for leggies.. ..

Maybe I need a Gath helmet for these extreme down-winders.

Maybe I need a Gath helmet for these extreme down-winders.

After copping a fin in the head from my own board once before in two foot surf, I think a garth helmet could be recommended for these things. There were a few times today I felt just as Jonothan said - a cork.

When some of the wild gusts hit I felt quite insane to be out there. I can now understand why people don't take their medication - it was so much fun.
